Facebook talked about a new messaging feature that will link Messenger and Instagram Direct.
Recommended: Jesica is an Instagram promotion app (from the creators of Instaplus.me). Install Jesica on your Android phone or computer and the app will like, follow, and unsubscribe as if you were doing it yourself:
- No blocks. The limits work as if you were doing it all manually.
- Safely. You do not need to enter a password for your account.
- High speed. You can put up to 1000 likes and 500 subscriptions per day.

Now people who use the Messenger app will be able to reach you on Instagram without having to download a new app, and vice versa. Also, you can control where to receive messages and calls.
This will allow you to cross-send messages from Messenger and Instagram, as well as see incoming messages from Messenger in Instagram Direct. At the same time, your current messages and correspondence in Instagram will be available only on Instagram.
As noted, Facebook’s main goal is to unify all of its messaging platforms: Messenger, Instagram Direct and WhatsApp, so that users in each app can send messages to each other without having to download each app. But for now, WhatsApp will remain a standalone application.
Also, Facebook introduced several new features that will be available for correspondence in Messenger and Instagram:
- selfie stickers;
- joint video viewing via Messenger;
- messages that disappear after viewing;
- setting the background for chats;
- reactions to emoticons;
- manage incoming messages.
It is worth noting that Facebook will first launch new features on Instagram and Messenger in select countries only, and will make a global release in the future.
Previously, Instagram increased the length of Reels to 30 seconds, and Facebook removed the “20% text” limitation on images for ads.
