The prediction mask is a type of AR mask that offers the user an entertaining game in order to find out the future, what kind of character you are from your favorite movie, music group, and so on. Such masks can be found in the Games section.

How to create a prediction mask for Instagram Stories in Spark AR
Step 1… We need to download and install the Spark AR program, as well as do some light face retouching. We examined all this in detail in the article https://postium.ru/maski-v-instagram/. Follow the link and follow steps 1 through 17. Then we go back.
Step 2… Now you need to prepare pictures with predictions. Any graphics program will work, I’ll use Adobe Photoshop.
Create images
Step 3… The selection of images for predictions depends individually on your goals. You can download ready-made pictures from the Internet or create yourself. To do this, in the “File” tab, go to “New”. In the window that appears, set the size to 12 x 7 cm, resolution 72 pixels / inch. Also, you can immediately change the background fill color of the image, with us it will be black.
Step 4… We have created a black image. To add text with the question “Why are there no customers?” select the text tool (the letter “T” in the toolbar). For the text to appear, you need to click on the picture.
Step 5… Change the text that appears to the required “WHY ARE THERE ARE NO CLIENTS?” (we’ll have capital letters) and go to font styles. We apply the one that we like best. At this stage, you can change the color of the inscription by clicking on the square with the color above.
Step 6… You can change the position of the text by setting the orientation to the left, middle, right. We will have it in the middle.
Step 7… We need to save the finished picture. Go to the menu “File” – “Save as …”.
Step 8… We name the image “Picture 1”, before saving, check that the format field is JPEG.
Step 9… Create picture 2. It is not necessary to open a new image, it is enough to change the text of the already created caption to a new one “Creatives need to be screwed up”. The size of the label can be adjusted in the text size box. Save the picture in the same way as the first, call it “Picture 2”.
Step 10… By the same principle, we create and save 8 more pictures with the words “We need more traffic”, “Salesmen are leaking leads”, “Not season …”, “Can I get a discount?”, “Competitors have lower prices”, ” The crisis, you know .. “,” The dollar has grown, the ruble has fallen, “” They will be next month! “
Step 11… We open our project in Spark AR. Click on “faceTracker0”, go to “Add” and add “Plane”.
Step 12… Change the name “Plane” to “Question” and add + “Materials”.
Step 13… In the workspace “Assets” added “material0”, we call it “Question”. Change the “Shader Type” item to “Flat” and add “New Texture” in the “Texture” tab.
Step 14… We are looking for “Picture 1” on the computer with the question “WHY ARE NO CLIENTS?”. We open it.
Step 15… In the “Scene” workspace, click on “Question”. On the right, in the location parameters, change the “y” value to 0.15 in “Position”. In “Scale” the value of “x” is 1.8. The question board changes position and shape.
Step 16… Click “faceTracker0”, go to “Add” and create a “Plane”. We call it “Answer”.
Step 17… In “Position” set the value “y” to 0.15. In “Scale” the value of “x” is 1.8. The black and white square takes the position and shape of the question. Add new matter (“+” to “Materials”).
Step 18… Another “material0” has been added to the “Assets” section. We call it “Answer”. In the “Shader Type” section, set “Flat”, in the “Texture” – “New Animation Sequence”.
Step 19… “Animation Sequences” appeared in the “Assets” workspace, change the name in the sub-item to “Answers”. Check the boxes next to the Loop and Randomize parameters, then click on Texture and select New Image Texture.
Step 20… Select all the images, except for the picture with the question and press “Open”.
Step 21… If a quick change of objects starts on the demo screen in the plate, then everything is done correctly.
Step 22… To stop fast changing pictures, click the pause icon. Click on “Question” and make its patch visible. To do this, click on the arrow in the circle to the left of “Visible”. The “Patch Editor” field opens to us. This is where we will link the questions and answers to it.
Step 23… We repeat the same actions with the “Answer”.
Step 24… In the workspace “Patch Editor” click on any free point. In the search that appears, enter “Screen Tap” and add a patch (“Add Patch”).
Step 25… We click again on an empty cell in the “Patch Editor” field, in the search that appears, enter “Switch” and add it.
Step 26… Add a new patch “Not” in the same way.
Step 27… We line up all the cells in one line as in the picture and connect the outputs with arrows.
Step 28… We need to add one more patch (click on any free point). Enter “Runtime” and open the patch.
Step 29… Add 5 more patches “Offset”, “Less Than”, “Loop Animation”, “Random”, “Random” and “Round”.
Step 30… We build connections exactly as in the image.
Step 31… Click on “Answers” and make the patch of animated responses visible (click on the arrow in the circle next to “Current Frame”). A yellow Replies object appears in the Patch Editor field.
Step 32… Move the “Answers” to the end of the bottom diagram and connect them to the “Round” patch. In the “Less Than” patch, change the “Second Inport” value from 3 to 5 (time in seconds after which the answer to the game question will appear). In the “Loup Animation” patch, set the “Duration” item to 0.05. In the patch “Random” in the “End Range” item we set the number of pictures with the answer. We have 9.
Step 33… Now we need to check if we did everything right. We open the mask on the smartphone and check. If there are any failures, go back and check the connections in the Patch Editor field.
Step 34… If everything works fine, go to save. Go to Upload and Export. Green checkmarks indicate that the mask is suitable for publishing in all respects. We export the file “Export file” to the computer. The Upload button will send us to the loading page in the Spark AR Hub.

Uploading the mask to Instagram
Step 35… The program takes us to the page for downloading the mask for moderation Spark AR Hub. Check if your Facebook account should be linked to your Instagram page. To send a mask for moderation, we need to specify the “Name” of the mask, add a “File” with the mask (earlier, we saved it to the computer).
Step 36… Fill in the items “Platform” (where the mask will work) and “Owner” (the author of the mask).
Step 38… In the “Icon” item, attach a 200 x 200 pixels picture (larger picture sizes are allowed). It is better to make a picture yourself or find a ready-made file on the Internet.
Step 39… Date of publication – “As soon as possible”, location – “Everywhere”.
Step 40… In the section “Instructions for the Verifier” it is enough to briefly describe how your mask works, what changes / adds, and so on. Download the “Review Video”.
Step 41… To create a demo video, fill in all the steps and save the information. You will be given a special link for testing. We open it, record a video completely showing how the mask works.
Step 42… We attach the video to the item “Video with a review” and only after that we send it for moderation.
Everything is ready! The mask is going to be checked by specialists! 🙂
Conclusion
Facebook and Instagram users strive to entertain their audience with AR games. The average user uses the same prediction mask (or any other game) not all the time, but out of interest at least once. This means that prediction themed masks can bring the author’s page higher reach and attract potential customers. For those who make masks, this is a good way to make money on Instagram.
