Instagram has begun testing a new two-tiered story feed for some users.

As you can see in the screenshot by user Ed Maughan and posted by social media expert Matt Navarra, stories will take up more screen space and appear in two rows.

Instagram confirmed the testing and commented it like this:

“We’re always looking for new ways to improve the Instagram user experience.”

There is no information yet on how widely the update is being tested and in which regions. At the same time, if the new presentation of stories receives a positive response from the audience, then very soon Instagram will update their display in the application.

Earlier, we already wrote that Instagram wants to expand the place for stories in the application and is testing a new way of navigation.

These and other facts, as well as the popularity of the Stories format, indicate that Instagram may soon make stories the main form of content. When you enter the application, you will first see the stories, and then you can collapse them and go to the publication feed.

Thus, a double listing of stories could be the first step to big change on Instagram and social media in general. Therefore, we recommend that you pay attention to how you use stories for promotion and work more with this format.
