Instagram developers are testing the ability to read and send Direct messages from a computer. This could end the mobile-only era of Instagram.
Now users do not see whether something came to them in Direct or not if they went to their profile from the desktop. The dectopic interface also lacks other basic functionality, such as the ability to post an image or video.
Recommended: Jesica is an Instagram promotion app (from the creators of Instaplus.me). Install Jesica on your Android phone or computer and the app will like, follow, and unsubscribe as if you were doing it yourself:
- No blocks. The limits work as if you were doing it all manually.
- Safely. You do not need to enter a password for your account.
- High speed. You can put up to 1000 likes and 500 subscriptions per day.

If testing is successful and everyone is able to communicate via Direct from computers, this can be considered another step towards the unification of three Facebook products – Messenger, Instagram Direct and WhatsApp.
Earlier we wrote that it will soon be possible to reply to Instagram messages via Facebook…
