Instagram confirmed on its Twitter account that a feed with favorite subscriptions will appear and also announced a return to the timeline feed.

These updates are scheduled for the first quarter of 2022, as is the launch of the parental controls feature.

However, it is not yet known with certainty whether Instagram will be able to turn on the timeline feed by default, or whether you will need to turn on/go to that feed every time you sign in to the app. Perhaps it will work like Facebook, where you have to switch to the timeline feed every time you log in.

Instagram has also confirmed that they are working on a “Favorites” feed where you can add important subscriptions.

Based on this, we can conclude that when you log into the app, the same feed that we see now will open. It will add a selection option on the feed we want to see – Home, Favorites, and Subscriptions.
