Instagram will make it mandatory to specify the date of birth.

This will apply to new users as well as those who registered earlier and did not specify a date of birth.

As you can see in the screenshots below, Instagram will be sending requests asking you to add your birthday. If you ignore these requests, the account will be blocked. However, Instagram will show such a request several times before imposing restrictions.

According to the social network, all this is done to protect young users.

Of course, young people will still be able to bypass Instagram’s age restrictions by entering false information about their birthday. Therefore, in the future, the social network will introduce technology to estimate age. If artificial intelligence suspects deception, age verification will be launched, which involves a series of questions.
