Instagram will test selling IGTV ads to compete with YouTube

Instagram plans to sell ads on IGTV that host longer videos to compete with YouTube for share of the rapidly growing online video market.

The social network will begin sharing ad revenue with users for the first time. Those who participate in the program will receive 55% of IGTV ad revenue. Thus, video monetization on IGTV will work in much the same way as on YouTube. Instagram plans to start testing ads this spring.
