TikTok has announced that its AR effects creation platform is now available to all users.

The Effect House platform allows you to create your own AR-camera effects that other users can use to record TikTok videos.

The platform will be open to “all creators, designers and developers from around the world” and will include tools and learning resources.

Effect House supports head, hand, body and eye tracking. There is an option to choose ready-made templates from the collection or to create masks completely from scratch, both 2D and 3D masks.

However, effects that “promote colorism or negative stereotypes about protected groups” and effects that “depict cosmetic surgery, such as lip fillers, or encourage scrutiny of someone’s appearance” will be banned.
