Twitter added podcasts to the social network

  • Twitter added a new tab, Spaces, to the menu. It will contain audio rooms (both live and past), divided by topics, as well as podcasts.
  • The tab is available on iOS and Android – but only to the social network’s English-speaking audience. It presents “the most popular podcasts in the world.” What exactly are these podcasts, the social network does not specify. It is also unknown whether users can upload their own shows to the platform.
  • After listening to a podcast, you can give a “like” or “dislike” to the social network to understand what content is interesting to the user.

Mark Zuckerberg announced the launch of podcasts, audio rooms and other voice features on Facebook in April 2021. Podcasts officially launched in June, and the social network shut them down in May 2022.
