YouTube is experimenting with automatically inserting video episodes into selected videos. Segments will be selected using machine learning.

The Episodes feature, which allows you to divide videos into chapters using timecodes, was announced in May and later became available to all users.

The main goal of YouTube is to make video navigation easier by automatically adding episodes to videos. As a result, episodes can appear in all YouTube videos without the need for creators to manually add them.

This will make it easier for viewers to navigate to the sections they are most interested in, but will also allow YouTube and Google to identify specific video elements that respond to specific key user queries.

YouTube previously announced that it will serve ads on all videos, even on non-monetized channels, and also revealed the details of its recommendation algorithm.
